At the Airport
General information
Vnukovo airport's terminal complex consists of a passenger terminal marked with the letter A and a VIP lounge located in a separate building. Vnukovo hotel complex is located in the Park area of the village of Vnukovo, a 15-minute walk from the airport.
The first ground level of terminal A is designed to serve incoming flights. For departing passengers, the second ground level of the terminal is used, which is adjacent to the flyover. For VIP passengers, there are special halls on the third ground level of the terminal, equipped with meeting rooms.
At all levels of terminal A, there are spacious and comfortable waiting rooms, shops, food outlets and other service organizations that will not allow you to get bored while waiting for boarding a flight. In the business halls, passengers are offered fresh press, soft drinks, a buffet, massage chairs, a separate area for children and Wi-Fi.
Security service is a priority for the airport. The aviation security service uses the most modern technical means and advanced technologies. The service is in constant readiness to counteract acts of illegal interference in the activities of civil aviation. In accordance with the Plan for emergencies related to acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, the Service personnel employed in the seven operational groups: blocking and liquidation of a bomb threat, communications, evacuation, rescue and fire fighting, medical support, logistics and logistics. The aviation security service is constantly working together with the airport's production services, law enforcement agencies and local authorities to implement measures aimed at preventing acts of illegal interference in the airport's activities, preventing actions to seize and hijack aircraft, ensuring flight safety, and protecting the life and health of passengers and crew members of aircraft.
For low-mobility passengers, Vnukovo airport has created a special Mobility Assistance service for low-mobility passengers, whose employees accompany the passenger from the entrance to the airport to boarding the aircraft and back. The terminal is equipped with ramps and special elevators for the movement of low-mobility passengers. The width of the Elevator cab is 1.1 meters, the depth is 1.4 meters, and the width of the doorway is 0.9 meters. Handrails are provided in the cabins, and the call buttons are located at an accessible height for low-mobility passengers. Buttons in elevators are duplicated in Braille and voice announcements of stops. In total, 78 elevators, 61 escalators and 38 travelators were built in terminal A. The so-called "smooth floor" system is implemented throughout the terminal, which allows passengers with limited mobility to move freely throughout the terminal. To serve passengers with limited mobility, high-capacity wheelchairs are used, stair walkers that can "walk" independently on the stairs in the terminal or on the aircraft ramp, a video phone and induction panels are installed that make it easier for visually impaired and hard-of-hearing passengers to communicate with airport employees.
For those who plan to fly through Moscow in transit, the most comfortable conditions are also created. Since the terminal has a cross-cutting division into two zones-for serving passengers on domestic and international flights, here, unlike many other airports in Russia and Europe, you can go from the zone of internal lines to the international zone by the shortest route, without leaving the terminal building.
A distinctive feature of Vnukovo was the use of the most modern solutions and the best world practices in the field of information technology. Today, the airport provides passengers and airlines with a set of information services corresponding to the world level. The wide spread of Internet technologies and mobile services implemented here allows passengers to comfortably and independently issue all the necessary documents before arriving at the airport. For those who need to always be in touch with their corporate services, passenger terminal A provides free Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the terminal.
Vnukovo International Airport is provided with the most extensive and high-tech network of transport communications and is located just 28 kilometers from the historical center of Moscow. Three highways converge here at once — Kievskoe, Borovskoe and Minskoe, and in the immediate vicinity of the airport complex there are Parking lots for all types of public transport. At the same time, passenger terminal A is combined with a unique, the only underground railway station in Russia, where Aeroexpress high-speed electric trains come from Kievsky railway station.
