Construction work has begun on the unique Vnukovo metro station
Following the approved Moscow Metro Development Plan, construction work began at the Vnukovo metro station on February 1, 2020.
Vnukovo locates just 28 km from the historical center of Moscow. In the coming years, Vnukovo Airport will be the first in Russia to be reached using the metro. A trip to the airport will be reduced by 15-25 minutes. So, already at the end of 2022, passengers will have the opportunity to choose the most convenient type of transport for them: aeroexpress, buses, taxis, car-sharing, or metro.
The Kalinin-Solntsevskaya line will run along the Aeroexpress route, bypassing the village of Vnukovo. Tracing provides along the Borovsky highway. The metro integrates into the airport infrastructure for the maximum comfort of passengers.
The Vnukovo station will be underground and will be located on the station square. Besides, the subway will become closer to 170 thousand residents of the capital living in the same area. At the same time, the quality of transport services at Vnukovo Airport will increase, which is especially important given the projected increase in passenger traffic by one and a half times. Moreover, the new metro station will help improve the transport situation on the Borovsky and Kievskoe highway.
To cope with increasing passenger traffic and prevent possible traffic congestion around the station square, the airport develops an updated traffic management scheme, which will be agreed and approved by authorized organizations of the Moscow Government.
In addition, the airport has launched a multi-level parking construction project, which is directly related to the new metro station. The area of the new parking will be 64 thousand square meters, and the capacity is 2,000 parking spaces. An indoor passage will connect parking and terminal A. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2022.
At all stages of the construction of the Vnukovo metro station, to optimize traffic flows in the area of the station square, and also taking into account the need to ensure the safety of passengers, development, and implementation of temporary schemes for organizing road traffic are provided. The primary purpose of these events is to minimize possible inconveniences for both passengers and car drivers, reduce the number of time constraints, without which it is impossible to implement such significant infrastructure projects as the construction of a new metro station near the airport terminal of one of the country’s largest airports.
We draw your attention to the fact that due to the deployment of the metro construction site, parking No. 3 and No. 4 near terminal A are currently closed. However, in areas free from construction work in this place, flat parking is organized with a smaller capacity.
It is possible to access the station square of Vnukovo Airport for free for 15 minutes. If you need more time, you can park your car in a multi-level parking lot. On the forecourt square of Vnukovo Airport, there are two multi-level parking lots No. 1 and No. 2 for 350 cars each. Parking time is unlimited.
The following rates apply at parking lots No. 1 and No. 2: the first 15 minutes of the first hour - free of charge, the cost of the first full/incomplete hour of parking - 500 rubles;
second full/incomplete hour of parking - 100 rubles;
third full/incomplete hour of parking - 100 rubles;
every full/incomplete day a vehicle is in a paid parking lot for more than three hours - 750 rubles;
parking space in a closed box - 1,000 rubles for each full and incomplete day;
restoration of a parking ticket (in case of loss or damage) - 1.5 thousand rubles.
It is important to recall that to comply with safety requirements (in particular, the requirements of paragraph 27 of Order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation dated November 28, 2005 No. 142 “On approval of the Federal Aviation Rules “Aviation Security Requirements for Airports” according to the rules for finding vehicles in a 30-meter security zone ), parking of cars on the forecourt is prohibited. Stopping vehicles is allowed only for boarding / alighting passengers.
We apologize for any inconvenience for passengers during the construction of the Vnukovo metro station: construction temporarily - the metro forever!
