Vnukovo Airport increased passenger traffic by 13.2% in November 2019
According to the results of November, the passenger flow of Vnukovo International Airport amounted to 1 million 672 thousand passengers. The growth rate amounted to 13.2% compared to last year. At the same time, Vnukovo showed the most dynamic growth in passenger traffic among airports of Moscow in both absolute and relative terms.
Passenger traffic on international airlines (IAL) amounted to 736 thousand people in November 2019, which is 29.8% more than over the same period last year.
The most popular foreign destinations last month were Istanbul, Antalya, Dubai, Tashkent, and Phuket.
The volume of transportation on domestic airlines (DAL) amounted to 936 thousand passengers in November, which is 2.8% more than a year earlier. The most popular domestic destinations in November were St. Petersburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Makhachkala, Surgut, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, and Ufa.
In just eleven months of 2019, 22 million 345 thousand passengers were served at Vnukovo Airport, which is 12% more than in the same period last year.
On December 13, for the first time in its history, Vnukovo International Airport served the 23 millionth passenger since the beginning of the year. In total, according to the results of the year, it is planned to serve over 24 million passengers.
Vnukovo International Airport is one of the largest air transport complexes in Russia. Annually, the airport serves about 200 thousand flights of Russian and foreign airlines. The route network of the airport covers the entire territory of Russia, as well as neighboring countries, Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. In 2018, Vnukovo International Airport broke a historical record and served 21 million 478 thousand passengers, which is 18.4% or 3 million 340 thousand passengers more than in 2017.
The airport complex Vnukovo has a total area of about 300 thousand square meters. Vnukovo airport is able to provide capacity of up to 35 million passengers per year.

In addition, Vnukovo Airport was recognized as the best airport in the category “International Airport with passenger traffic of over 10 million passengers per year” of the national award “Air Gate of Russia” as part of the V National Aviation Infrastructure Show NAIS-2018. In 2019, Vnukovo Airport was recognized again as the best airport in the category “International Airport with passenger traffic of over 15 million passengers per year”.
