Airport Medical Services

The Vnukovo Medical and  Paramed Division is a primary-function unit within the Airport's corporate structure,  and is responsible for the medical care and logistics as part of the Airport’s entire scope of operations. It also provides medical care services to Vnukovo's  airline and business tenants as well as to the general public. The Division holds the license of the Department of Health of the City of Moscow and Certificate of Conformity issued by the Federal Transport Supervision Service with the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.  

     The Medical and Paramed Division comprises:

1.      A medical clinic
2.      The Flight Operations Medical Expert Board
3.      An in-patient clinic (hospital)
4.      A laboratory
5.      A dental clinic
6.      Medical aid stations in passenger terminals and the "Start" medical aid station
7.      Preflight medical checkup center 

The medical clinic is capable of handling up to 400 outpatients daily and provides diagnostics, outpatient treatment & care services of all types.

  The medical clinic staff regularly conducts and handles the following:   

•           preliminary and regular medical checkups aimed at preventing occupational disorders and diseases and industrial injuries
•           vaccinations
•           medical examinations of motor vehicle drivers
•           medical examinations of airside motor vehicle drivers
•           temporary disability examination
•           firearms license entitlement medical examination
•           medical and narcological examination

  Outpatient care and treatment in the following fields:

  The Flight Operations Medical Expert Board performs the following medicals and checkups:

•           airline pilots (aircraft and helicopters)
•           navigators
•           flight engineers
•           flight systems operators
•           flight radio operators and engineers
•           supervisor pilots

 Cabin crew members:

•           flight attendants
•           cargo masters

 Other:

•           applicants and entrants to institutions of higher civil aviation education
•           students and cadets of institutions of higher civil aviation learning
•           Air traffic control staff  (controllers) 
•           General utility aviation pilots:
•           Amateur pilots
•           Glider pilots
•           Free balloon pilots
•           Parachute jumpers
•           Ultra light aircraft pilots

  All of the above medicals result in medical certificates being issued in conformity with the FAP MO GA- 2002.

  The in-terminal medical aid stations and that of START perform:

•           comprehensive preflight and post-flight (scheduled or random) flight crew medicals
•           pre-shift  medicals for air-traffic controllers
•           passenger emergency medical assistance services in passenger terminals and at the Airport Hotel
•           employee Emergency medical assistance services rendered to both the airport staff and that of its business partners out of the     Medical Unit’s regular business hours
•           medical advice to passengers with certain medical conditions with regard to possible contraindications to air travel  
•           organization and provision of medical assistance to passengers with limited mobility and those in serious medical conditions on stretchers, their delivery on-board an aircraft or assisted disembarkation
•           assembly of in-flight first aid medical kits for airlines
•           monitoring and safeguarding the sanitary and epidemiological wellbeing at the Airport and the surrounding area under its jurisdiction. 
•           medical examinations to establish influence of banned substances and stimulants as part of preflight or pre-shift medicals
