Russian Federal Air Transport Agency has issued permission to the Saudi airline Flynas to operate regular flights on the Riyadh-Moscow (Vnukovo) route. The carrier has included flights to the Russian capital in its schedule from August 1 until the end of the spring-summer navigation season (October 25). Flights will be operated three times a week on Airbus A320/330 aircraft.
There are currently no direct regular flights between Russia and Saudi Arabia. The order to establish air traffic between the countries was previously given by President Vladimir Putin. The launch of the new route will open up fundamentally new opportunities for expanding cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Our compatriots will be able to study the rich history and culture of the Kingdom, discover such destinations as Diriyah, the capital of the First Saudi State, or the Al-Ula oasis located on the ancient Incense Route (both are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List), or choose first-class resort destinations on the Red Sea coast. Our fellow pilgrims will also have much more convenient access to Holy places in Mecca and Medina.
For Vnukovo Airport, the opening of a new route will be an important step in expanding the route network, will increase passenger traffic and strengthen its position in the global air transportation market. We are ready to cooperate with the airline to ensure comfort and reliable performance of each flight for all travelers between Russia and Saudi Arabia. You can view the schedule and purchase tickets now on the airline's website and via Russian online flight search services.
