The activists studied the work of patrol units and police at the airport. The delegation included Valentin Medushevsky, Executive Secretary of the Public Council under the Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Central Federal District, members of the permanent commissions of the Public Council Vladimir Novitsky and Iosif Fishbey, as well as Galina Sheveleva, Deputy Chairperson of the veteran organization of the Line Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at Vnukovo Airport. At the entrance to the Vnukovo airport building, the activists paid attention to the patrol officers, their outlook, equipment, bodycams. They pointed out that the policemen acted responsibly and with care.
Having examined accessibility for people with limited mobility, the representatives of the Public Council visited police control room at Vnukovo Airport. They also checked the stands in the lobby with useful information for citizens, samples of applications and other documents, photos of persons suspected in committing crimes and missing individuals, as well as information about the staff and contact details of the Public Council of Police Department at Vnukovo airport.
The activists paid special attention to the detention conditions for citizens who are brought to the duty station for committing offenses and crimes within police department’s coverage. They found conditions sufficient.
At the end of their visit, the inspectors expressed appreciation of the professional and well-coordinated work of the police department at Vnukovo Airport. No violations were found during the audit.
Vnukovo International Airport is one of the largest air transport facilities in Russia. The airport handles about 200,000 flights of Russian and foreign airlines annually. Vnukovo airport terminal with a total area of about 300,000 square meters is able to handle up to 35 million passengers per year. Vnukovo International Airport is the only airport in Russia to have received Letter of Commendation from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for labor achievements and high performance. Moreover, Vnukovo Airport was recognized as the Best International Airport by Air Gateway of Russia award at National Aviation Infrastructure Show (NAIS) for three consecutive years.
