On May 15, Vnukovo International Airport and Conviasa Airlines summed up the results of their first year of cooperation. To mark this event, the aircraft which arrived on this day from the capital of the Bolivarian Republic, Venezuela, was welcomed with full honors at Vnukovo Airport with a water salute. The official delegation from Venezuela and the Conviasa passengers were greeted with flowers and souvenirs. Congratulatory audio messages were announced in the terminal.
The airline has observed a steady demand for air transportation. During its first year of flights to Vnukovo International Airport, Conviasa operated 90 flights and transported more than 3,500 passengers. Additionally, during the spring-summer season, direct scheduled flights to the resort town of Porlomar are scheduled twice a month, also on Sundays. For these destinations Conviasa uses wide-body Airbus A-340-200/300 aircraft, along with a modern and comfortable A-340-600 which recently entered the carrier’s fleet of aircraft, and on which the anniversary flight was performed. In addition to creating a reliable air bridge between Russia and Venezuela, Conviasa flights provide convenient links to Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, using Caracas as an international aviation hub.
The Caracas — Moscow (Vnukovo) route is of strategic importance both in terms of the development of economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Venezuela and Russia, and as an attractive, unique destination for the Russian tourist market.
In addition, Russian passengers can use the airline’s services at Vnukovo Airport: in October 2021, Conviasa opened its representative office in Terminal A. Its friendly and highly professional staff are always on hand to provide the necessary advice and assistance to passengers, both at the stage of booking or purchasing of flight tickets, and at the stages of pre- and post-flight service.
Conviasa is the national carrier of Venezuela, operating both domestic and international flights to and from the country. Currently, the company’s fleet consists of aircraft types Airbus A-340, Boeing-737-200, as well as ATR 42 and 72 and Embraer 190 and 195 regional aircraft.
